Thomas Kingston found with head wound, gun nearby

On Friday, an inquest opening revealed that the 45-year-old financier died unexpectedly in an outbuilding at his parents’ family home.

An inquest heard that Thomas Kingston, the husband of Lady Gabriella Kingston, daughter of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, died from a “traumatic head wound.” A firearm was found near his body.

The 45-year-old financier’s death occurred unexpectedly in an outbuilding at his parents’ home, according to information presented at the opening of the inquest at Gloucestershire Coroner’s Court.

At the hearing on Friday, senior coroner Katy Skerrett described the “brief circumstances” of his death.

“Mr. Kingston was visiting his parents’ home in the Cotswolds,” she said. He and his parents had dinner on February 25th. His father went out to see to the dogs.

“Upon his return, Mr. Kingston was not in the house; his mother went looking for him about thirty minutes later.” His father forced entry into a locked outbuilding when there was no response.

“He found Mr. Kingston deceased, with a severe head injury.” Gunpowder was found at the scene. Emergency services were called. The police are satisfied that the death does not appear to be suspicious.

Ms. Skerrett also stated that a traumatic head injury was identified as the provisional cause of death during the post-mortem examination.

She then adjourned the inquest to a date in the future.

Earlier, Gloucestershire Police had stated that officers were called to the scene by an ambulance crew on Sunday just before 6.30 p.m.Thomas Kingston found with head wound, gun nearby
