The announcement of the winners of the 2023 World Car of the Year Awards will take place this week following the completion of the 2023 New York Auto Show. The list of nominees for these awards was published in February of this year. One hundred journalists from thirty-two different nations participated in the voting. The findings are in.
The Ioniq 5 was the winner of three prestigious accolades for Hyundai in 2018, including World Car of the Year, World Electric Vehicle of the Year, and World Car Design of the Year. This was a tremendous accomplishment for Hyundai. In the year 2023, Hyundai did it once more. Those same three honors went to Hyundai’s brand-new and extremely aerodynamic Ioniq 6 car. The Hyundai Motor Group as a whole won four out of the six trophies. Five of the six victories went to electric cars.

The Hyundai Ioniq 6 isn’t exactly the most exciting automobile on the market today. And one may make the point that it has an odd appearance. There is no denying the technical accomplishments of Hyundai, which are nothing short of brilliant.
With a drag coefficient of only 0.219, the Ioniq 6 is able to achieve a maximum range of 361 miles. This places it in third place, behind the Lucid Air and the Tesla Model S, but in front of the Mercedes-Benz EQS. In contrast to such automobiles, the price of an Ioniq 6 begins at less than $50,000.
Kia EV6 GT will be named the World Performance Car of the Year in 2023.

The standard Kia EV6 is one of the vehicles that made it onto our list of the greatest cars money can buy. After that, Kia came out with the brand new Kia EV6 GT, which significantly raised the stakes. It has a horsepower rating of 575 and a torque rating of 546 lb-ft. And it boasts straight-line performance that puts it in discussion with (at least the slowest) Ferraris and Lamborghinis. It can accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in under 3.4 seconds.
The Lucid Air is the World Luxury Car of the Year for 2023.

With a top range of more than 500 miles and a claimed 0-60 mph time of less than two seconds, the Lucid Air attempted to rival the Tesla Model S and succeeded by pretty much every statistic. It is still quite high on the list of electric cars that we can’t wait to get behind the wheel of.
