While commuting to school, Elianne Andam was fatally stabbed multiple times.
It has been acknowledged that a 17-year-old boy murdered a schoolgirl in south London a year ago.
Elianne Andam, age 15, was the victim of multiple stab wounds during her September commute to school in Croydon.
Her demise transpired in the vicinity of a bus stop near the Whitgift retail center amidst the morning rush hour.
The juvenile defendant, whose identity is withheld due to his young age, entered a not-guilty plea for murder on Thursday morning at the Old Bailey in central London via video link. Instead, he admitted to the charge of manslaughter.
The prosecutors rejected the confession, and a trial is scheduled to commence on November 25 at the identical court.
Additionally, the child disavowed carrying a blade in a public area.
On September 27, within two minutes of the police’s arrival on Wellesley Road, the incident occurred. However, at approximately 9:20 a.m., Elianne, who had been stabbed in the neck, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Attended at the Old Palace of John Whitgift School, Elianne, a foot-long dagger was used to attack her.
In the days following her passing, Elianne’s family issued the following statement: “The senseless demise of our daughter has broken our souls.
“Elianne illuminated our lives.” She was intelligent and humorous, and numerous acquaintances adored her.
She still had her entire existence ahead of her, filled with aspirations and hopes, when she was only 15 years old.
